Legendary rock and roll band, The Rolling Stones, has just finished playing a small warm up gig for their fans in Paris, France on Thursday. The event was said to “test the waters” and see how fans will respond to the group, who have been absent from the music scene since 2007. Fans who were lucky enough to be at this intimate concert said that the Stones were amazing.
The Rolling Stones band is one of the most recognizable singing groups in rock music history. The group was formed in the United Kingdom and became a monumental hit in the United States. The group’s mammoth fame is attributed to its lead singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, two incredible musicians that are the creative force behind memorable performances and iconic songs.
The Rolling Stones have sold more than 200 million records. Some of their hits include “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”, and “Street Fighting Man”. The band’s greatest hits collections, “GRRR” includes two new songs: “One More Shot” and “Doom and Gloom”.
In the last decade, the group has derived so much income from touring the globe. Their last world tour between 2005 and 2007, “A Bigger Bang”, brought the group more than $500 million.
This iconic band recently announced that it is returning to the concert stage with four concerts this year. The concerts will be held at O2 Arena in London on the 25th and the 29th of November for the UK leg and on the 13th and 15th of December at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center for the U.S. leg of the tour.
The concerts are aimed to be the a crowning glory celebration of the band’s 50th Anniversary. It will also mark the first time that the group will be performing live after five years. It will be a sort of a reunion for the band’s Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts to be performing together again.
For this year’s tour to mark its 50th anniversary, tour organizers promise a new set design that will be entirely different from previous concert designs. The group does not plan to perform in a wide tour although the December 15th concert will be made available to a wider audience through pay-per view TV.
While Mick Jagger and Keith Richards had endured some testy times in their relationship, the two had appeared civil enough during the gigs that celebrated the band’s 50th anniversary. Don’t miss your chance to see the Rolling Stones live on stage. Reserve your tickets early!

Combining the upbeat grooves of a world beat concert with the power of traditional devotional chanting, or kirtan, the GuruGanesha Band brings an entirely fresh and diverse sound to the sacred music genre. Their music draws upon many sources—raga, gospel, rock, folk, even a touch of the blues. In performance, these myriad musical tributaries merge in a river of sound that alternatively brings audiences to their feet in ecstatic dance and transports them inward, into a quieter, more meditative and soothing space. Much of the band’s material is drawn from GuruGanesha’s 2011 album Kundalini Surjhee, but they have also begun to incorporate some brand new compositions into their live performances.
The group is led by world devotional music pioneer GuruGanesha Singh, renowned for his work with singers Snatam Kaur, Tina Malia and Nirinjan Kaur, and widely respected as the founder of Spirit Voyage records. Grounding the GuruGanesha Band’s joyous beat are percussionist prodigy Tripp Dudley, accomplished bassist Gurusangat Singh, and rhythm guitarist/backing vocalist Sat Kartar Singh. The GuruGanesha Bands’s rainbow tapestry of sonic hues is magnificently enriched by multi-instrumentalist Hans Christian, who performs on cello, sarangi, sitara and nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle). And then there’s Paloma Devi, the GuruGanesha Band’s divinely enchanting singer. She brings her entire life and soul to every note—her Cuban family background, her deep grounding in Kundalini yoga, her world travels, her ardent studies in everything from Sanskrit to flamenco dance.
The GuruGanesha Band is set to embark on their East Coast Tour at the Boston Yoga and Chant Fest on October 20th. They’ll next move on to Auburn, NY; Arlington, VA; Asheville, NC; and Davie, FL.
